Documents, applications and information
Working or hiring across borders involves paperwork, procedures and regulations. Forms, applications and changing rules can be confusing and time-consuming. Workgate provides clear support with documents and applications and offers transparent information about how processes work.
This page is for anyone who wants to understand what is required, how procedures are organised and where Workgate can support beyond the core services.
Support with documents and applications
Workgate assists with the preparation, completion and coordination of documents and applications related to working and staying in the Netherlands and Europe.
Support may include:
- guidance on which documents are required
- assistance with completing forms and applications
- coordination of submissions and follow-up
- checking documents for completeness and consistency
- support with additional administrative forms
A clear copy of a valid ID is always required when starting a process.
Please note that Workgate does not decide on approvals. Decisions are made by the relevant authorities or third parties.
How our procedures work
Every situation is different. The applicable process depends on factors such as:
- the country issuing the permit
- the duration of the permit
- the worker’s current location
- whether the work is in employment or self-employed (ZZP)
- applicable national and EU regulations
Workgate explains the process step by step, so you know what to expect before anything starts.
Additional services and practical matters
In addition to core guidance, Workgate can support with practical and administrative matters, such as:
- health insurance
- mandatory liability insurance (WA)
- assistance with finding housing (without guarantees)
- support with purchasing a car
- car insurance
- mobile phone subscriptions
- other required forms and registrations
These services are optional and subject to separate fees.
Costs and transparency
Costs depend on the type of process and support required.
All costs are explained clearly in advance.
Fees are fixed and apply equally to everyone.
No individual or special pricing arrangements are made.
Costs related to documents or procedures handled by third parties (such as authorities or partners in other EU countries) are outside Workgate’s control and are charged on a one-to-one basis.
Changing rules and regulations
Rules and procedures differ per country and are subject to change.
Workgate follows these developments and monitors what they mean for ongoing and future processes.
This helps prevent missed deadlines, incorrect applications or unnecessary delays.
